Crisis hitting the Family

So, this whole economy problem actually does affect everyone, I guess. I kind of hoped that it would smooth over and we could put on our rose-colored glasses and forget about it all…I guess I can stop being a naive child and remedy my ignorance with knowledge.

I haven’t seen my grandpa on my dad’s side of the family in over two years, I think, and we were going to drive down to Alabama and see him for Thanksgiving this year, but my dad works for General Motors and they might be laying people off soon, so my dad and step mom decided that it would be better for the family to save money now just in case they lay him off. 😦 Which would suck. Also, do doubt gas prices will sky rocket for the Holidays so fuel companies can get as much money as they can because they know people have to drive. Ugh. I remember when gas was below $1 a gallon. I couldn’t drive then, but I remember.

My mom will be turning 50 next May and she wants to take a trip to New York for her Birthday with her 4 daughters, but that has a SLIM chance of ever happening due to the current economic state of the country. Does anyone else have similar stories? I know this is affecting most of the country, but how? What are we all sacrificing? Who are we not seeing?

Just wondering.
